  • Lawmakers urged to reverse planned cuts to some travel per diems

    The Federal Managers Association, federal workforce unions, and travel associations spoke out against the Department of Defense's (DOD) proposal to reduce temporary duty assignment (TDY) per diem allowances. On November 1, those on TDY for 30-180 days will see a reduction of 25 percent, while those gone for more than 180 days face a 45 percent reduction. Groups have warned DOD as well as Members of Congress that this will force civilian defense employees to struggle to find accommodations within these financial limits and impact morale.
