  • FMA'S JESSICA KLEMENT ON YOUR TURN WITH MIKE CAUSEY TOMORROW AT 10:00 AM - February 22, 2011
  • Legislation attacking federal employees to take center stage

Alexandria, VA - The Federal Managers Association's (FMA) Government Affairs Director Jessica Klement will appear on Your Turn with Mike Causey, tomorrow, Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 10:00 am. The interview will focus on a variety of issues facing federal employees in the first session of the 112th Congress, as well as the Association's upcoming 73rd annual National Convention and Management Training Seminar. The radio show will broadcast on WFED 1500AM in the Washington, D.C. metro area, and nationwide onwww.federalnewsradio.com.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed an appropriations measure funding the federal government for the remainder of fiscal year 2011. Thankfully, lawmakers struck down two amendments that would have denied feds pay increases based on step increases, promotions, and performance awards. Since the 112th Congress convened in early January, however, lawmakers have introduced several bills disparaging the work of federal employees, and their action on the spending bill does not mean feds are out of the woods. Klement will discuss FMA's response to these issues, as well as the Association's 2011 legislative agenda.

Klement will also provide an overview of the Association's National Convention and how it will focus on the theme,Federal Managers - Turning Policy into Action. The training seminar, taking place on Tuesday, March 15, is open to all managers and supervisors across the federal government and will feature five panels of experts on various topics relevant to managing today's federal workforce.

The radio show airs at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, and can be heard onwww.federalnewsradio.comor WFED 1500AM in the Washington, D.C. area. A recording of the show will be posted to bothwww.federalnewsradio.comand FMA's Website atwww.fedmanagers.org.
