  • Some Agencies' Shutdown Furlough Plans Have Changed Dramatically in Past 2 Years

    The continuing resolution (CR) that has funded the federal government since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2016 is set to expire on Friday, December 11, 2015. While observers expect Congress will provide for another temporary CR as they work on a longer-term omnibus funding measure, agencies are preparing shutdown furlough plans, which were updated 10 weeks ago. This article looks at several agencies' plans compared to the October 2013 shutdown and plans that were readied in September 2015.
