DOD NEW HIRES WILL HAVE EXTENDED PROBATIONARY PERIOD - November 13, 2015
New Defense Employees Will Be on Probation Longer
By Kellie Lunney, Government Executive
New hires at the Department of Defense (DOD) will have a two year probationary period, thanks to language included in the Fiscal Year 2016 National Defense Authorization Act. President Obama is expected to sign the legislation, which has been approved by both the House and the Senate. The Federal Managers Association (FMA) supports this effort, as extension of the probationary period across the federal government is a longstanding priority of the association.
