  • New Mandatory Performance Management Training Module for Supervisors - December 8, 2025
  • FEDweek

OPM has issued a new mandatory training module on performance management for current and newly appointed federal supervisors on topics including performance evaluation, employee recognition and awards and discipline.

“At the end of the training, supervisors will be ready to set clear expectations, deliver quality feedback, document fairly, reward excellence, and take timely action when needed—all while building an engaged, high-performing team through transparency, accountability, and collaboration,” a memo says.

Agencies are to announce the availability of the on-demand training to all supervisors along with the requirement that they must complete it by February 9 in coordination with their HR offices. New supervisors must complete the training within one year of appointment.
