The Office of Special Counsel has said it has reached settlements in three Hatch Act cases, one involving candidacy for partisan office and the others involving activities while at the workplace.
In the first, it said, a federal supervisor “ran for and was elected to partisan political office and also solicited campaign contributions during the campaign. When notified that his candidacy and solicitations violated the Hatch Act, he immediately resigned from the elected position.” The settlement resulted in a 10-day unpaid suspension.
