  • Trump Budget Request Silent on Federal Employee Pay Raise for 2027 - April 3, 2026
  • FMA has endorsed the FAIR Act (H.R. 7480 / S. 3823), legislation sponsored by Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA) and Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI), that would provide for a 4.1 percent pay raise for feds in 2027. We will continue to strongly advocate for that legislation.

    For the second consecutive year, federal workers may have to wait until August to learn how much they might make next year.

    President Trump’s fiscal 2027 budget proposal, released Friday morning, proposes a sizeable pay raise for military service members but fails to enumerate his plans for the civilian federal workforce. Under the plan, members of the military would receive between a 5% and 7% pay increase, with the highest raises going to the lowest ranked personnel.
